 MUSIC
BACKGROUND
Al studied accordion under George Cailotto for 5 years in
Detroit, Michigan.
At age 18 he auditioned for the United States Navy Band and was
accepted.
He went on to graduate from Navy Musician's School and traveled
around the world with a Navy Band, including a trip to Africa with a
separate Navy Band.
During this time period he played for dignitairies worldwode,
including President John F. Kennedy.
Al also appeared with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra.
He has taught music for over 20 years (accordion and guitar), and
has performed as a single or a combo entertaining crowds in various
resorts, etc. as well as performing private parties and receptions
all over Michigan.
Al has also acted as a judge for the Michigan Accordion Teacher's
Guild.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND
Al received his associate's Degree from North Central Michigan
College; Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University majoring in
English and Minoring in Social Science; and his Master's Degree in
Education Administration from Central Michigan University.
He taught English and History courses on a Junior High and High
School Level for 26 years and also taught Leadership Courses while
in the military.
